Door Access Control

All Controller models provide onboard access control, with the key difference being the reader ports and number of doors that can be controlled without the need for additional hardware.

• The standard WX controller (PRT-WX-DIN) has 2 reader ports, with each port able to be independently configured for either Wiegand or RS-485 reader operation. This enables you to connect 2 Wiegand readers (in standard mode), 4 Wiegand readers (in multiplex mode), or up to 4 RS-485 readers (in RS-485 mode). When the port is configured for RS-485 operation, each port supports 2 readers, with the wiring identifying which is the entry reader, and which is the exit reader.
• The single door controller (PRT-WX-DIN-1D) has 1 RS-485-only reader port allowing the connection of 2 RS-485 readers to provide entry and exit control of a single door.

Further doors can be controlled by adding reader expanders (up to 128 doors supported)
