Differential data transmission where one line goes high and the other goes low

• Within an RS-485 Module Network, data is transmitted differentially on two wires that have been twisted together, referred to as a Twisted Pair
• Twisted pair cables provide noise immunity and are suited to long distance networks
• The shield and screen in Belden 9842 provides further immunity to noise by providing a path for any received electromagnetic interference to get to ground
