Wiegand Interface

Although Wiegand is an ideal solution for using third party systems and proximity readers, there are some risks involved:

• Wiegand readers are vulnerable to replay attacks as they always send the same data from each card
• If the cable between the reader and Controller can be accessed, the data from a card can be ‘recorded’, then ‘played back’ to the Controller when access is required
