Downsides to Card and PIN Mode

Though secure, this mode also has its downsides.

• If this mode is applied during the day, it quickly becomes inconvenient for the users to badge their card and enter their PIN every time they want to enter the building.
• Also, double badge arming cannot be effectively implemented when using Card and PIN mode.

Ideally, the Card and PIN mode should only be required if the building alarm system is armed and unoccupied. Once disarmed and occupied, the door mode should switch to Card Only. This solution provides added security without impacting on convenience.
