Default Door Types

Protege WX offers a number of pre-defined, common door types. These include:

• Card Only: A card badge is all that is required to unlock the door.
• Card and PIN: Both a card badge and PIN entry is required to unlock the door.
• Card or PIN: Either a card badge or a PIN entry can be used to unlock the door.
• PIN Only: A PIN entry is all that is required to unlock the door.

The four pre-defined modes have the same mode set for entry and exit. For example, the ‘Card and PIN’ Door Type requires a card and PIN on both entry and exit readers. It is a common requirement for the entry and exit modes to be different. If your system requires this, we recommend that a new Door Type is created. This way, if you need to revert back to a known state, defaults can be used.
